Notice & Governance: This standalone privacy notice is published in accordance with the plain-language requirements of India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 and accompanying Rules. We believe in total transparency: you have the right to know exactly what data we collect, why, where it goes, and how you retain full control.

01 Who We Are

02 What We Collect

We only collect data that you voluntarily provide to us or specifically consent to sharing:

Pre-booking details: Your full name, email address, phone number (with country calling code), country, state/UT, delivery city, travel plans / primary moment of use, and requested number of canisters entered via our waitlist form.
Consent records: Your explicit affirmative consent choice and timestamp as required by law.
Anonymous usage metrics: Only if you explicitly accept our cookie notice, anonymous usage data (pages viewed, device type, browser, approximate region) is gathered via Google Analytics and Meta Pixel to help us evaluate site performance.

03 Why We Collect It

We process your personal information strictly for legitimate, transparent purposes:

To contact you directly via WhatsApp, phone, or email regarding your Batch 001 complimentary waitlist spot, status, and dispatch schedules prior to delivery.
To understand which travel circuits, altitudes, and high-demand regions (such as Leh-Ladakh, Spiti, Kedarnath, and metropolitan cities) matter most to travellers so we can optimize local distribution logistics.
To measure our advertising campaigns and understand which informational guides assist travellers.

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for marketing or monetary consideration.

04 Who Sees It (Third-Party Processors)

Your details are accessed solely by authorized team members and trusted technological partners who process information securely on our behalf:

Our internal team: For managing your reservation, customer care, and logistics coordination.
Google: Secure spreadsheet and database storage for pre-booking management (Google Workspace / Google Apps Script) and anonymous aggregated analytics (Google Analytics).
Meta: For advertising measurement and campaign optimization.

Note on cross-border processing: Some cloud computing infrastructure and service providers store or process data on secure servers located outside India in compliance with applicable cross-border data transfer regulations.

05 Data Retention

Pre-booking details are kept for up to 12 months following submission, or until you ask us to erase them, whichever occurs sooner. Once your reservation lifecycle concludes or upon your deletion request, your personal identifiers are securely purged from our operational records.

06 Your Rights & Choices

Under the DPDP framework and international privacy standards, you maintain absolute control over your digital personal data:

Right to Withdraw Consent: You may revoke your consent at any time without penalty.
Right to Access: You may request a plain copy of all personal details we hold regarding you.
Right to Correction & Erasure: You may request prompt correction of outdated information or immediate deletion of your data.
Grievance Redressal: If you have any concerns or complaints, email our Data Protection officer at support@yucares.com. We commit to reviewing and replying within 7 business days.

07 Age Restriction (18+)

This website, its pre-booking features, and YU products are exclusively intended for individuals 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal data from minors or children. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information, please notify us immediately at support@yucares.com and we will delete the data promptly.

08 Health & Wellness Disclaimer

YU is a wellness and lifestyle product designed for breathing comfort, high-altitude recreation, and urban rejuvenation. It is NOT a medicine or medical device, and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any illness, disease, or acute altitude sickness. It is never a substitute for proper acclimatization, rest, descent, or professional medical care. Anyone with pre-existing cardiovascular, respiratory, or blood pressure conditions should consult a qualified physician before travelling to high altitude.
